ASFV is  amajor global threat, and the viability quantitative PCR (v-qPCR) module of the RISNA assay, using algal megavirus (EhV) as a surrogate, helps measure virus viability. Feed sanitizers demonstrated complete virus inactivation within one hour, making it a potential biosecurity tool for mitigating ASFV in contaminated feed.
